I’ve been meaning to share some of the movies I’ve seen lately and my thoughts on them.  When it comes to seeing movies, I see just about anything as long as I see some sort of good quality in it.  I come from an area where going to the movies is one of the only fun activities to do locally.  Before sharing my opinions, I must warn you that I often find movies too long.  My ideal movie is around an hour and forty-five minutes.  Now this isn’t an absolute rule for me to like a movie.  Secondly, I go to the movies to be entertained above all.  Here are a few movies I’ve seen over the past couple of months.

My Week With Marilyn  I saw this over Thanksgiving weekend in St. Louis.  I liked it a lot more than I thought I would.  Michelle Williams did a great job and I enjoyed the way the story was told.

J. Edgar  I wasn’t planning on seeing this one, but decided to after grabbing a bite to eat next to the theater.  It was good, but a little too long.  The makeup at times was distracting as well.  It is worth renting though.

The Descendants  This movie has received a lot of praise from critics.  It’s good, but not great.  It definitely made me want to go to Hawaii and was directed well.  It was good to see Matthew Lillard is still alive.

The Adventures of TinTin  Visually stunning, otherwise it was just okay. The theater was showing it in 3D only, which I don’t really like for multiple reasons.  I wish there was some humor thrown in and the story would of grabbed me more.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows  I enjoyed this film a lot.  Probably more than the first.  I think Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law did an excellent job.  The scenery and costumes are top notch as well.

Again, these are just my opinions.
