Finally after spending all of my spare time repairing the floors last fall, they’re almost done. Here is a picture showing the repair, sanding, and refinishing. There are some small imperfections that I’m not too thrilled on, but I guess I’ll chalk it up to character.

This weekend, Brandon and I started our very first garden. Our backyard is rather expansive for being in town, so this 16x20 plot has plenty of room. We pulled up all of the sod and are waiting to till it and get things planted (if it ever stops raining and stays consistently warm!)
This will be my first real, planned out garden. We’ve got seeds for onions, cucumbers, zucchini, cantaloupe, peppers, lettuce and more. There’s nothing better than fresh veggies—especially when they’re right in your back yard! Can’t wait.

Finally, spring has arrived. I absolutely hate winter. A week of winter is more than enough for me. However, the one thing it does do is make you appreciate the other seasons. Yesterday, Kaleigh and I worked out in the yard for six hours. We raked, cleaned out gutters, got the grill out, among other things. Yard work sucks, but I actually enjoy it. It feels good to get it all cleaned up. Hopefully in the next couple of weeks, we will get our garden planted and some serious landscaping done. I realize this may make us seem old, but I find it all therapeutic and good for the soul.

The shelf by our front door is full of books and assorted items that we’ve picked up over the years. It’s not really organized, but I kind of like it that way.

Here is the first of five new pieces of art I’ve ordered recently. This Dana Tanamachi print was originally done with chalk and it will be hung in the office. We’ve been meaning to get some things hung for awhile, but we’re just now getting around to doing it. I’ve got one more thing for the wall behind the couch, but it is quite large and there will be a little building involved.
